About Us

Due to the popularity of Thailand as, a holiday destination, Britons are coming away with a good culinary experience. We endeavour to recreate that experience here in our restaurant. From the moment you arrive, there is a warm greeting from our friendly smiling staff. Every mouth watering dish is skilfully prepared and cooked from fresh by our team of experienced Thai chefs.

Each dish is created to produce a unique flavour for the discerning palate. Those who have visited Thailand can be transported back by each dish they choose here. Those who have not yet tried Thai food, it is our pleasure to introduce you to the true authentic taste of Thailand. Keswick's highest capacity restaurant welcomes group bookings of up to 50 people.

Advanced booking is strongly recommended.

A Little History

Some things are just down to serendipity. Back in 1992 en route to the Philippines we had a couple of hours to spare whilst waiting for a connection at Bangkok airport. Venturing into one of the airport's restaurants our perception of Thai cuisine was changed completely when we tasted the famous 'Green curry'. The cool subtle flavours of lemon grass and coconut seduced our senses and stirred within us the desire to sample more of this superb cuisine.

So impressed were we by the Green curry that we couldn't wait to try the equally fragrant Yellow and Red curries, both were superlatively exquisite, each with their delicate flavour underpinned by an exciting depth of sophisticated elegance.
Upon our return to the UK, we began to seek out Thai restaurants, eagerly trying each and every one we encountered. Realising that there were very few restaurants serving genuine Thai cuisine, we decided to take matters into our own hands and open our own restaurant here in the heart of the English Lake District.

With dogged determination we have created an elegantly authentic Thai restaurant here in Keswick. At the 'Star of Siam' the subtleties of Thai cuisine are magnificently reflected in the peaceful verdant dales, the fiery hues of autumnal bracken and the setting sun as it casts its golden rays over the lake at sunset. What nicer way to end a day amongst this timeless landscape than a relaxed meal with one of the world's truly great cuisines.
